I took these photos while boating on Lake Michigan. We started in Whiting, IN, and went just north of Navy Pier. It was a really hazy day, but beautiful.

Today, we went to the Hammond Marina to see the Columbus Foundation‘s replicas of the Nina and the Pinta. The Nina is an exact replica, and the Pinta is 50% larger and has some modern amenities.

They were much smaller than I expected, and I certainly can’t imagine sailing them across the ocean! The public was limited to the above decks, unfortunately, but the crew was knowledgeable and happily answered questions. These replicas sail all over the western hemisphere as “floating museums”.

Last week, I shot some pictures at the final games at Whiting Park. Shooting through a fence is HARD!

Each year, the Whiting Oilers get to play a game at the Gary Steelyard…

This was a challenging shoot. It was a night game, and it was raining off and on.

Friday night, I went to see my nephew, Andy play baseball. The game was held in the Gary Steelyard, where the Gary minor league team plays. It was another challenging night time shoot, but i took some time to experiment, and came up with some cool shots.
