A nice grey base coat has been applied to the stone building. Because these are lasercut MDF, they don’t take drybrushing very well… I’ll have to experiment with airbrushing different layers.<\/p>\n

Same goes for the bridge. The walkway will be red brick.<\/p>\n

I added silver to the upper portion of the warehouse. I held a piece of card in place as a mask, which worked out fairly well, but did require a little bit of cleanup. Once this was done, I dirtied up the silver by airbrushing some Secret Weapon armor wash. This was the first time I have run a wash through the airbrush, and it worked out perfectly for this. I’m not sure I would use the technique on a mini, but in this case, I wanted it to be messy and pool on the flat surfaces. Next, I’ll add some rust with the airbrush, then wash again. After that, I’ll add some rust streaking, either with rust powder, or an oil wash… maybe both!<\/p>\n

These are manhole covers that will be used as objective pieces for an upcoming wreck-age scenario. I primed black, did a rough, heavy silver drybrush, heavy black wash, then rust powders. This was my first time experimenting with the rust powders. for the more subtle effect, I stippled it on, then fixed it in place with some white spirits. The very heavy rusting was applied as a wash, made from the powder and white spirits. I may do a light silver drybrush on the edges, and possibly a light black wash before spraying with matte varnish.<\/p>\n
