The gates are finished! I decided to let one hang broken. I also made a couple of changes to this piece…<\/p>\n

The swings are now hung with actual chain! I may cut one of the chains so the swing dangles, broken. This was very difficult, but totally worth it. Sorry for the blurry image.<\/p>\n

I tore a whole in the fence, and frayed the edges a bit. I think it adds a nice touch.<\/p>\n

I aged all these cars. I may have gone a little too far with the very rusty truck on the right. I first hit them with a coat of Testors Dullcoat matte varnish so they would take paint. Then, I coated them liberally with Secret Weapon Armor wash. This did a great job of providing shading depth as well as giving them a nice layer of grime. Then, I used rust powder and white spirits to rust the cars.<\/p>\n

Here is a close up of the Mini Cooper. I took a hammer to this and cracked the windows up. I also remove the wheels. This one is going to be on cinder blocks.<\/p>\n

I wanted this car to be filthy, but also appear as it it was well cared for at one point. It has much less rust than the others.<\/p>\n

Nothing needs to be said about this one.<\/p>\n

I prepped the shack. The garage doors are corrugated cardboard. The chimney on the side is a chapstick tube. There is a ladder against the wall on the other side. The base will be covered in sand before painting.<\/p>\n

I based all these signs on pennies, so they won’t get knocked over all the time. The bases will be primed, and then coated in grey texture paint to simulate concrete.<\/p>\n

The pond is coming along nicely. I added a couple of resin tree stumps. I also added some rocks and sticks to the pond bed. After painting, I will add green tinted water effects to the pond.<\/p>\n

Finally, I got a LOT of priming done. The only thing I have left to build is the brick wall at the back of the playground. Then, it’s time to paint!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
